Wild Flowers

This is probably my favourite time of year in Overleigh Cemetery as the wild flowers burst out. At first glance people might think the cemetery is overgrown and neglected, and yes it is hard to walk around if you are looking for a loved one's gravestone. But this is more than made up for by the wonderful display of flowers. They don't last long but it is well worth a look.

Not only is it beautiful but the cemetery is teeming with wildlife. Bees are buzzing, dragonflies glide serenely past you. Buzzards soar overhead, making a distinctive 'mewing' call.

If you are lucky enough you might catch sight of a green woodpecker flitting from the top of a gravestone.

If you want some peace and tranquillity there is nothing better than finding a                      quiet spot and taking in the view.
